The area around Stoney Street, now known as The Lace Market was from the 6th to the 11th centuries the only occupied site of the settlement known as Snotingeham. This important part of Nottingham's heritage has only been Known as The Lace Market for the last 150 years or so and reflects what was Nottinghams staple industry for almost a century.

The great lace houses, recently cleaned up, can still be seen in all their glory, however they  are now divided into smaller units. Lace is no longer made here but can still be found in some of the shops and although there are no market stalls you can find a bargain in one of the many facory shops.

The area is a popular tourist attraction with lots of restaurants, cafe bars, museums, theatres and trendy shops.

Situated in the historic heart of Nottingham Custom Frames is proud of its reputation for quality and service that is hard to find anywhere today.
Specialising in the framing requirements of artists and interior designers Custom Frames is not too big to take orders from individuals who desire only the best in craftsmanship and materials. Unlike the large High Street framing shops Custom Frames will frame anything, large or small, any shape, any medium. Over the years local craft shops have learned that they can confidently recommend Custom Frames to their customers for the framing of tapestries, needlework, decoupage and three dimensional work often turned down by other framers.

With all this emphasis on quality, service and attention to detail, you could be excused for expecting to pay high prices. You would be wrong, in fact Custom Frames prices are lower than those charged by the High Street framing shops. All work is fully guaranteed, you only pay if you are completely satisfied with the finished work and you can be assured that you will always receive the personal attention of the proprietor, Alan Carlisle.
